With only a few weeks until Gears of War 3's release, numerous Gears-related sales pop up.
Whenever a game as big as Gears of War 3 is getting closer to its release date, usually games and gear that are related to the game partake in the excitement by announcing various sales or new products. Gears of War 3 is no exception.

Gears of War 3
Since the release of the first Gears of War (Mad World) trailer came out, I thought that it couldnt ever be matched. Yet, when the trailer Ashes to Ashes for Gears of War 3 released over a year ago we all just sat in amazement. However, that was not the only thing that got me excited about Gears of War 3.

Evil D-Pad Perfect for Gears of War 3
I am sure many gamers out there have encountered a game in which the original Microsoft D-Pad has failed them in some way. There are many games where you use the D-Pad in order to switch between weapons and equipment, perform a special move, or just simply walk around. These types of flukes dont happen all the time, but they do occur more often than you think. I am sure many out there will agree with me when I say that it always seems to fail us at the most important moment. This flaw in the controller has caused quite a ruckus in the gaming industry. When I was 5 years old one of the very first games I ever played was Mortal Kombat for Super Nintendo. I accredit it as being the game that started it all for me. Since that time, there have only been one or two versions of Mortal Kombat that I would consider its equal, but nothing that really did the original justice. This is primarily due to the fact that the games veered too far from the origins of its 2D ancestor, venturing into the land of 3D and an excess of unrecognizable characters. Now after more than a decade and a half, the critics have spoken, and Mortal Kombat 9 has finally lived up to its name.
With the release of a completely revamped movie due later in 2011, a state of the art graphics engine, powering a 2D side-scrolling fighting game, there is no doubt that Mortal Kombat is back, and with a vengeance!
