An article keeps popping up on Computerandvideogames, and in fact, at the time of writing, it was the most popular post on the entire website, despite it being written around 4 years ago. The article reveals a story about DICE, and their overall succumb to publisher pressure, and the article, four years later, is filled with irony and unfortunately, not of the funny kind.
The article depicts an interview with DICE's senior producer at the time with Xbox World 360 Magazine asking all of the questions. One question that made the title of the article was about paid-for content, maps and DLC.
At the time a DLC pack for Modern Warfare 2 was released for 1200 Microsoft Points, however, it was met with quite a lot of frowns on that day. The reason for this was because DICE had released a free DLC pack on the exact same day for their game at the time, Battlefield Bad Company 2.
When asked about all of this, Patrick Bach, DICE's senior producer at the time, stated

As far as beta's go, Titanfall's was pretty damn successful. In fact, the developers behind Titanfall have revealed that the game had received around 2 million unique players after the beta was opened up to the public.
Respawn Entertainment have revealed that the upcoming FPS shooter title has been very successful in it's beta stage, and the huge amount of players have helped the development team to spot some bugs and game mechanic exploits thanks to the dozens of players that live streamed or uploaded video footage to thousands of viewers.
Many gamers were making the remark that a beta this late into a game's development isn't really a beta at all, and is instead just a glorified demo. Whilst it's true that any major gameplay decisions can no longer be adjusted, I do think that the beta did some good for the development of Titanfall.
Firstly, Respawn's servers were put under pressure, and what better way to test servers than to open up the game for everybody to play

If you're not already excited for InFamous Second Son, then a new TV Spot released on YouTube should make you at least a little bit more interested in the upcoming action title for PlayStation 4.
InFamous Second Son features Delsin Rowe as the protagonist, a 24 year old Native American street artist that has a few special powers most street artists unfortunately do not have the capabilities to hold.
This includes being able to "absorb" special abilities from others, and Delsin Rowe can also manipulate smoke and electricity. Of course, government officials aren't gonna' be happy with this, or his street art, and because of this, the DUP, a government branch that has been given the task to control humans with supernatural powers, has flagged Delsin Rowe as a bioterrorist.
The TV trailer unfortunately doesn't show much apart from a lot of explosions, a few bad guys, the occasional smirk, and a lot of special energy power being

Free to Play PlayStation 3 Beat'em up Tekken Revolution has just received a new patch that adds a new character to the playable roster, as well as changing a few other things around in game, too.
Namco Bandai has revealed that the new update, which is now available to download, includes Jaycee, a character who was first seen in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and has a Lucha Libre wrestling fighting style. Jaycee is in fact a masked version of Julia Chang, who was first seen in Tekken 3.
This new patch adds a few new things to the game to celebrate Valentine's day as well, and also adds a few tweaks and fixes to the flow of Tekken Revolution. One of the new changes has made it possible to get an increased chance to be a lucky winner with the Blood Seal Jackpot, however this deal was only available from the 14th of February to the 19th of February.
Prices for premium effects have also now been lowered in a sale, but will go back to full price on February 24th.

If you can excuse the strange choice of music, I have something very exciting to show you. It's a brand new trailer headed for UK cinemas, and it shows some pretty intense footage of Darks Souls 2 in action.
The trailer focuses on an iron-clad hero as he battles through numerous enemies, takes down a dragon, and goes through various forms of terrain. I know that the trailer doesn't really represent actual gameplay footage, but it still looks absolutely awesome.
I was very interested in the first Dark Souls game but have yet to play it unfortunately, but I have heard many great things from the game, so this looks like a very nice treat, especially for anybody that has played the first game.
The trailer seemed to be directly advertising the Black Armor Edition and the Collector's Edition of the game, and showed both copies with their exclusive goodies at the end of the trailer. The Black Armor Edition comes with the game, the title's soundtrack, as well as early access

For all you diehard Borderlands fans out there, I have some bad news for you, Borderlands 3 is not yet in development, and it's unlikely to be developed for another few years at least. For the rest of us, this means we can get excited for more intellectual property from Gearbox, and some completely new games.
Randy Pitchford at Gearbox Games revealed to Polygon that although there won’t be a Borderlands 3 per se, there will be another Borderlands game in the works, but that it should be thought of as a much bigger project than Borderlands 2.
Pitchford stated, "When you think of what Borderlands 3 should be, it should be massive. It should be bigger and better than Borderlands 2. It should carry forward the story. It's probably crazy multiplatform, depending on timing. It would have to be a next-gen game and a current-gen game, if it was coming at any time in the reasonably near future."
He did continue on to state that there will be a Borderlands title

The next game by creator of the FPS title Blacklight Retribution is called Daylight, and it has been described to be a procedurally generated thriller with each playthrough containing new levels, thrills and puzzles to complete.
Details on the title are still pretty low key, but more information has come in this week about the game. Firstly, 1 minute's worth of gameplay content has been released in an IGN preview, and the developer gives a bit of information about the game as the gameplay is shown.
Secondly, the game has been confirmed for a set release in April, however details on whether it will be free or not have not yet been confirmed. Despite their publisher being a F2P publisher, I think Daylight will be a game developed on their own back, thanks to the support Blacklight Retribution has managed to give them, and for this reason I expect the game will have a price tag on it.
It looks strictly like a single player game, and I'm not sure how successful the title

Titanfall hit Beta late last week, and at first I was taken back at the epic, super exciting gameplay the seemed to unfold in every single game. There is rarely a break in action, and sometimes that action intensifies and it's incredibly enjoyable.
The problem with the Beta is that the fun doesn't last - after a few hours of playing, the same two levels get boring, and playing with just four weapons with little customization options can make it feel almost pointless to carry on getting exp and completing challenges.
I hope that this issue will be addressed at launch. Right now the level cap is 14, which can be reached in less than 10 games, and once you've done that, there isn't that much left to do other than play the same things again and again.
One thing you can do though is keep unlocking burn cards, because some of these have a little peak at what content we’ll see in the future. Firstly, there seem to be two primary weapons available from burn cards that aren't

Titanfall was originally planned to enter closed Beta on Valentine's day, which players could sign up to for PC or Xbox One beforehand to get a chance to play. Although the NDA was lifted for this event, it was still closed Beta for the first two days, and there was a fair amount of players who had yet to play, both on PC and the Xbox One.
However, since the event went pretty smoothly, Respawn wanted to stress test the servers as much as possible to make the launch of the title go by as perfectly as they can. To do this, Respawn decided to open up the Beta for full open access, meaning that all players could go into the game and access it, both on PC and Xbox One.
Vince Zampella seemed pretty happy to "break" the game, so it'll be interesting to see how the Beta plays out for the next few days.
The Titanfall Beta will remain open till the 19th February. After that point, players will have to

If a game sells well, most game developers these days will be quick to make a sequel in an attempt to bring back the same success that the first game did, but for some development studios who care a bit more about just money, considering a sequel to a popular game can actually be quite a hard decision.
This seems to be the case with Naughty Dog, who haven't yet decided on whether their insanely popular The Last of Us PS3 exclusive in 2013 deserved a sequel or not.
Despite the post apocalyptic world of the Last of Us gaining a huge amount of critical success and praise from gaming communities world wide, I can understand why Naughty Dog may be finding it hard to make a decision on whether to make the Last of Us 2 or not.
Whilst the first and only DLC story pack for The Last of Us is planned for this month, Naughty Dog seem concerned that they won't be able to create another story worth playing in the same universe as the first game, and they seem to be putting a large
