Unsurprisingly, Armada and Hungrybox ended up finding themselves in a match up for the grand finale of Smash Melee Dreamhack Winter.
However, only one player could come out on top. Both Hungrybox and Armada were projected to do well in the event, but nobody expected Armada to be on such a hot streak. Earlier on in the tournament, Armada ripped through Leffen and Trifasia with quick 3-0 victories.
Hungrybox, on the other hand, managed to fight his way through Professor Pro and Mang0 in his first two matches. He did well, but he wasn't quite as much of a convincing winner as Armada was at this point.
After two straight wins, both Hungrybox and Armada found themselves in the winner's final. In this event, Armada's 3-0 victory streak was brought to an end by Hungrybox, but only just. Armada still managed to take a 3-1 victory in the winner's final, bringing him to the grand final with just a scratch.
Hungrybox took a pretty heavy knock to his confidence after his

Because a few players have opted to drop out of the Capcom Cup, players behind them in the rankings have been pulled in for an invite.
Last week, it was revealed that Misterio would not be able to attend the event, and as a result, the next highest ranked player was invited into his spot. This turned out to be Kenneth “K-Brad” Bradley.
Following from Misterio's announcement, Tse444 then revealed that he had decided to opt out of the Capcom Cup. Once again, this left a spot waiting to be filled and such a spot went straight into the hands of Fujimura "Yukadon" Atsushi.
Perhaps more interestingly is the extra qualification given to Humanbomb after Younes "CCL" Lazaar decided to drop out. Humanbomb also qualified for Capcom Cup in 2015 and managed to get a ninth place finish, despite his lower rankings.
Humanbomb will end up being the lowest ranked player in the entirety of the Capcom Cup Top 32 event, and his first match up will be against Lee "Infiltration" Seonwoo.

Rainbow Six Siege is hitting a new season, a new year, and a new season pass.
The new season pass will cost $30 and will give players upfront free access to some of the content that Ubisoft has planned for the next year. It looks as if Ubisoft are planning to make Rainbow Six Siege a long term investment - instead of developing a new Rainbow Six title, they'll put their efforts into releasing more content for Siege, and that involves lining up features to fill up the season pass offering.
The 2nd season pass will include 8 new operators which will be once again split up into groups of 2 across 4 different seasons during 2017. 8 Exclusive headgear customization options, as well as 8 new outfits, an R6 Carbon charm, and 600 R6 credits for in-game purchases will be included in the season pass as soon as a player purchases it.
Purchasing the season pass will also give players access to a range of VIP perks - these will remain active until February 2018, at which point we

We've got big news today! Marvel Vs Capcom 4 is getting a 2017 release.
Not only is Marvel Vs Capcom now slated for a 2017 release, but we may get a first glimpse and a proper announcement at the Capcom Cup later this year. During the event, we'll most likely hear about some of the fighters we'll see both from the Capcom camp and the Marvel team.
According to rumors, the Marvel Vs Capcom 4 lineup may not feature any X-Men, at least to begin with. A lot of the more iconic Street Fighter characters are expected to make an appearance, and those that are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
This would include those that are part of the Avengers; The Incredible Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, etc, as well as a number of potential villains. For now, we're unsure whether Spidey will be included in the mix, but it'd be nice to see him say hello. If the Marvel vs Capcom team does go ahead with the cinematic universe then we'll most likely not see any appearances from

Respawn Entertainment is going to great lengths to get new players into the world of Titanfall 2.
Alongside EA's help, Respawn has now released a free trial for Titanfall 2 that will allow players to try out the game before purchasing it.
The trial has launched as a freebie for those with EA Access or Origin Access. Alternatively, those without EA/Origin Access can pay $4.99 for the first month, cancel their subscription and then use their first month to play the Titanfall 2 trial. The best option though, is for players to wait till December 2nd and pick up the trial for free - at this point, even those without Origin Access will have the ability to play the trial on PS4, Xbox One or PC.
The Titanfall 2 trial will end on December 4 - after the trial ends, players will be able to purchase the game if they'd like to continue with the stats they left with. The trial will be limited to multiplayer, but there will be no content restrictions and the trial can be played without

A small clip featuring Yooka-Laylee gameplay footage has been published to the Playtonic's Twitter page, and it includes never before seen features.
For many, a Banjo Kazooie remake is something worth dreaming about. However, after the latest Banjo Kazooie title, a lot of fans have been disinterested in seeing any future titles. The development team, Playtonic, has revitalized the world's interest in such a game though, with their spiritual successor named Yooka-Laylee.
The company includes many of the developers that worked on the original Banjo Kazooie games that gained popularity back in the N64, Gamecube and SNES days. As a result, Yooka-Laylee has a huge amount of throwbacks to that time period - it looks like it's going to be the game to bring 3D platformers and collectathons back to life.
One of our concerns about Yooka-Laylee was the control system - previous footage has shown us that the game looks incredible, at least on a visual front, and fortunately it

Ubisoft has recently shared more details about the upcoming Ghost Recon Wildlands, including information about 2017 beta access.
One of the first new pieces of information that Ubisoft has shared about Ghost Recon Wildlands, is that players will have access to their own individual drone in single player mode. The drone can be customized and used in different ways depending on what changes a player has made to it.
"You can customize your drone depending on your playstyle and how you prefer to use it. You can upgrade the recon abilities by improving its autonomy, add different electronic views (night vision, thermal view, etc.), or change optics for better zoom abilities. You can also use the drone for diversion by putting devices which will generate sounds to lure enemies."
"You can also upgrade the engine to be more silent when needed, or implement an EMP bomb to switch off enemy electronic devices. And if you want to use the drone in assault mode, you can equip the

The start of last weekend saw the Capcom Pro Tour Asia Regional Finals come to an end, and we now know who came out on top and who will be making it to the Capcom Cup Finals.
The winner of the Capcom Pro Tour Asia Regional Finals is Mago, a formidable Karin player that has put a lot of effort into his playstyle in recent months to get himself a placement.
Mago didn't have an easy race to the finish, though. Earlier in the event, Mago took a heartbreaking defeat and found himself sitting in the loser's bracket. Fortunately, Mago had the courage, and maybe a little bit of luck, to fight his way through the loser's bracket and into the grand finals.
During the event, Mago managed to get a victory in against Bonchan, Kazunoko, and Haitani before he came up against MOV, who, at this point, hadn't lost a single game during the event.
The grand finals were one of the closest, most exhilarating matches I've watched in a long time. With Mago coming

EVO is making an exciting return in 2017, and we've now received details about when and where the event will take place.
EVO is one of the biggest fighting game tournaments in the world. It supports events for some of the most popular current fighting games, as well as some older titles. While the full game lineup is yet to be announced, the trailer has shown footage for Guilty Gear Xrd - Revelator, Street Fighter V, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Tekken 7 and Mortal Kombat X.
We wouldn't be surprised if other titles make their way to EVO 2017, including Smash Bros Wii U.
In 2016, EVO took place in Las Vegas for the first two days, whilst the final day of the event took place in Mandalay Bay's arena. It was a bit difficult for all fans to attend the entire EVO event, so this year the organizers have put the effort in to accommodate everybody for the 2017 event.
In 2017, the EVO event will take place on July 14 and will end with the final matches happening on July 16.
