With the Xbox One X set to storm the world next month, Microsoft is gearing up their game library by releasing visual updates. Surprisingly, even some older Xbox 360 games available on the Xbox One X via backward compatibility are set to get the visual upgrade treatment.
According to Xbox, a number of Xbox 360 backward compatible games will be getting an upgrade to support a higher resolution, 9X the original pixel count, and expanded color details.
This upgrade allows to improve game visual quality without touching the game code in any way. It's called the Heutchy Method and "leverages the power of Xbox One X to let the Xbox 360 emulator present the very best version of the game possible with the existing assets--all without touching the game code."
The number of games to get upgraded visual support is quite limited so far. The Xbox 360 games available for an Xbox One X visual upgrade are Assassin's Creed, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Halo 3.

While 343 Industries have been very quiet about their progress on Halo 6, we do now have some information on upcoming support for older Halo games.
It's now been confirmed that a total of four previous Halo titles will be added to the Xbox One's ever-growing backward compatibility list. All of the four titles were originally launched on Xbox 360.
The four titles include Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 4, and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. It's essentially the same list of games that were originally bundled in the Master Chief Collection. All four games will have a campaign and multiplayer support. Players will even be able to set up LAN games between the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
To make the news even sweeter, 343 Industries will be releasing all four games with all of their DLC. All previous downloadable content for the four titles will be made available for free, so long as players own the game, either in the digital or physical copy.
This will be a great opportunity

While it may have been some time since Xbox originally announced backward compatibility for original Xbox games, it's been reiterated recently that the feature is still being worked on.
Phil Spencer was the person to step up and speak about the progress that's currently being made for the backward compatibility feature.
When asked about whether Xbox would make any announcements about original Xbox compatibility, Phil Spencer responded by saying "I hope to bring more on Original Xbox backward compatibility this year, yes."
By this comment, it sounds like the feature is still in the works and it may be some time before it's finalized. There may be some blocks that could potentially slow down the project, but if we're fortunate, we may get more finalized details about an expected release date for the feature before the end of the year.
It's already been previously confirmed that original Xbox games will run better and look nicer on the Xbox One. While games won't

In a bit of a surprise move, Treyarch has announced some new content for Black Ops 3, specifically for the zombies mode.
It has been announced that new content under the name Zombies Chronicles will be making its way to Black Ops 3 in the near future. The new content will feature remastered versions of eight different zombies maps from previous COD zombies games.
The eight maps include the following - Nacht der Untoten, Kino der Toten, Shangri-la, Shi no Numa, Moon, Ascension, Verruckt and Origins.
Jason Blundell, studio head for Treyarch, has spread his word on the importance of these eight maps. He feels strongly that these eight maps are "the foundation for Zombies," and that he felt like "It was more important to give people the beginnings."
Call of Duty Black Ops 3: Zombie Chronicles will launch on May 16 - so far this launch will be exclusive to PlayStation 4. A later launch for Xbox One should follow, although the Xbox One launch date hasn't been announced

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is now available on the Xbox One via backwards compatibility. The news hit via an announcement post on the Xbox news website.
The new Black Ops 2 backwards compatible version is free to everybody that already owns the physical or digital version of Black Ops 2 on Xbox 360. If players do not own Black Ops 2, they can now purchase a digital copy for their Xbox One from the Xbox Games Store.
Currently, the digital copy of Black Ops 2 on the Xbox One is on sale with a 60% discount for those with Xbox Live Gold and a 50% discount for those who do not have an active Gold subscription. The sale will continue until April 17.
Unsurprisingly, the newly available backwards compatible Black Ops 2 has brought thousands of Xbox One players back to the title. With recent numbers, it looks as if the new Black Ops 2 player base may even surpass the current Infinite Warfare player base. It's great to see the Xbox One backwards compatibility program grow to support
