With a new Call of Duty game coming out every year, the series appears to change significantly and remain the same. The furious gunplay players enjoy spiced up with new systems and weaponry, but the brand's foundation was unchanged for a long time. The Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was released on November 5, 2007, 15 years ago, when the franchise finally found its footing. What specifically made this game unique? Let's examine this iconic first-person shooter game throughout the years to determine why it revolutionized competitive multiplayer games and first-person shooters.
Popularity
Many players are unaware that Call of Duty wasn't always the dominant first-person shooter. Before Call of Duty went viral, most gamers would fight it out in Halo or Unreal Tournament. When Modern Warfare was released, everything changed. Other games in the genre couldn't match the game's innovative multiplayer features for an engaging experience. At this point, it competed with other well-liked

The Call of Duty game franchise is one of the most popular ones in the world and since the past two decades, it continues to be one of the best sets of first-person shooter games that you might find. Developed by Activision, the Call of Duty franchise started out in 2003 with a game that was set around World War II. Since then, it has brought players exhilarating action, stunning gameplay, exciting challenges and missions, and much more to enjoy.
A few days ago, Call of Duty: Vanguard was released, which is developed by Sledgehammer Games and distributed by Activision. The game was released on several platforms, including Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X. This game is the 18th release in the franchise, and it succeeds Call of Duty: WWII. We believe this game can be crowned the best COD game ever.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Season 1 pass has gone live on PS4, Xbox One, and PC consoles, letting players get in on expanded game modes, special ops missions, and more.
The season launched alongside an update that added four new maps, which are open to all players. Ground War gets a new map called Port, while Gunfight mode gets Atrium and Cargo maps. An old map from the OG Modern Warfare is also being introduced, with Crash. Two other maps are going to be made live during the season, with Shipment and Vacant coming online at some point.
Those who buy into the season pass will get a new Reinforce mode that sees players getting a single life. Your goal is to survive and capture one of three flags. Doing so will grant respawns to players on your team. Two other game modes are coming, but they’re not available as of the launch of the pass.
The five new special ops missions include Operation Strongbox, Operation Just Reward, Pitch Black, Bomb Squad, and Grounded. The

Out of nowhere Treyarch has just announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be coming this year. The developer also released a small teaser trailer showing very little of anything besides the Black Ops logo.
Fortunately the teaser trailer does give us more information about when we can expect to hear more about Black Ops 3. According to the new trailer, there will be a worldwide reveal on Sunday, April 26.
So far, we haven’t seen any gameplay of Black Ops 3 and we don’t really know what to expect. The last title in the game was from Sledgehammer Games and this was the first time the development studio created a Call of Duty game without any external help. Some players seem quite excited to look forward to a new Black Ops title, whilst others are wishing Activision chose to go for a different Call of Duty era.
Considering Treyarch is still going down the futuristic Black Ops arch, it could be possible that the upcoming Black Ops title will come with some of the game

New Call of Duty- Neversoft
Apart from a few rumors saying it will release some time in 2013, haven't heard too much about the next Call of duty game, and that may be down to the bigger publishers focusing on getting a strong title out on the next-gen Xbox and PS4 before other competitors.
However, according to a leaked poster uploaded online, we may still be getting something Call of Duty-like this year anyway. The image shows a grainy figure who appears to be standing in the rain, with the date 11-11-13 centred in the middle of the image. Underneath the phrase 'Ready to Get Back to Basics?' Is shown.
For a second, let's imagine that this poster was confirmed as

COD 2014
There's little doubt about a new Call of Duty game hitting consoles this year, however right now we are very low on information, and it has created a bit of a buzz through the gaming community.
Of course without an official announcement trailer by a development team right now all we have to go on is ample guesses. Many guesses lead to believe that the game will once again be developed by Infinity Ward, however what the title will consist of is unknown.
The first thing to suggest is that the new game will be Modern Warfare 4, although after a lot of complaints hit the world about milking the series with Modern Warfare 3, Infinity Ward may move onto another title.
The next game may be a recap

New Black Ops 2 Content
From fragging your friends in multiplayer to shooting at zombies in well, Zombies, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 seems to have a mode for all shooter fans.
Sometimes though playing on the same maps with the same guns get old. That's where Revolution comes in.
Revolution is a content pack that will release on Jan. 29 that will include new maps for multiplayer, Zombies, and a new gun.
The newest map introduced into Zombies is Die Rise. This map will challenge players with a brand new minion and the map is located in a crumbling skyscraper. Giving an incredibly cramped feel.

Black Ops maintenance
Recently Treyarch has informed PlayStation players that they may have trouble connecting to, and staying in a game due to maintenance on the PlayStation network. It was nice for Treyarch to give notice to players, and although Treyarch gave little information on the reason for the maintenance, they wanted players to be patient and understanding of the situation.
The PlayStation network maintenance lasted most of the day, and although most PlayStation owners should be able to access most of the features, players may have difficulty getting into online play on some titles.
An official announcement by Treyarch on the matter was unexpected though, so it may
