Minecraft has been around for nearly nine years, but a hotly sought after feature is finally on the way, as it was revealed that a character creator is finally coming to the game.
The feature is first coming to the Bedrock beta, which is available on Windows, Xbox One, and Android platforms. The creator will include more than 100 basic features for players to tweak their characters, including skin, hair, facial hair, body size, eyes, mouths, and more.
Players in the beta will get the first crack at the feature while developer Mojang will work out any kinks that pop up by interpreting data. If all goes as expected, players will get access to the creator within the full game at some point down the road. After the initial beta, it’s thought that the feature will go live on iOS and Nintendo Switch platforms.
The launch was announced in a blog post by Thomas Wiborgh, who serves as Head of Marketing at Mojang. In the post he wrote: "Using

Out of nowhere, Mojang has announced a brand new Minecraft game.
The new game is called Minecraft: Dungeons and it takes Minecraft to new territories.
Mojang has unveiled that Minecraft: Dungeons is more like a side project that will exist alongside the original Minecraft game.
As the name suggests, Minecraft: Dungeons is a dungeon crawler game. It uses the same engine and existing Minecraft assets, but it will be an entirely different gameplay experience.
In Minecraft: Dungeons, up to four players will be able to join up to fight through underground levels, battling new mobs, bosses, and collecting loot.
The environments in Minecraft: Dungeons will be procedurally generated, but players will go through small levels, as opposed to the main Minecraft game which has an infinite open world.
Despite the announcement for Minecraft: Dungeons, development for the main Minecraft game isn't slowing down. Mojang has kept to their promise to keep pushing free

A brand new Xbox One S bundle has been showcased and it features a Minecraft themed skin for the console and the controller.
The Xbox One S console itself has been coated with a skin that mimics the pattern of a dirt block in Minecraft. Once standing up, the dirt section of the block can be seen at the bottom, with a small layer of green pixelated grass at the top.
The controller has been themed to look like a Creeper. The controller itself is almost entirely covered in the famous green pixel Creeper pattern. The front-facing buttons feature a green color scheme, while the bumpers, triggers, and sides are black.
A Creeper face can be seen in the center of the controller, with the Xbox Guide button directly above it.
Recently, Mojang has worked closely with Microsoft to bring all versions of Minecraft together within the single 'better together' update. With this, all Minecraft players can play with each other, regardless of what platform they are using.

A new update for Minecraft is expected to hit sometime in June and it should add a number of changes, including a new PVP mode. The versions that will receive the new PVP mode will certainly include the console versions but so far we aren't sure whether the PC or handheld versions will receive the same changes.
The new mode is called Battle and it will pit up to eight players against each other in a pre-generated map. There will be a number of pre-generated maps to play Battle mode on however the resources on each map will be randomized. Players will be given a set time limit where they will be invincible at the start of each Battle match. Players can use this time to collect resources.
Once the invincibility wears off, players are encouraged to fight to the death. Players will keep playing until one player is the last man standing. If you've ever played Minecraft on the PC you may be familiarized with The Hunger Games mode which is essentially the same kind of experience.

343 Industries, Mojang and 4JStudios have all teamed up together to create a themed Minecraft DLC pack for Minecraft on the Xbox One and Xbox 360. This isn't the first time we've seen themed mash up packs for Minecraft on the Xbox, and in fact it's not the first time we've seen a Halo pack either.
In the past we saw a full Minecraft Halo theme which included a Halo texture pack, Halo music track and Halo map. This time, 343 Industries has worked closely with Mojang to create a Halo 5: Guardians skin pack.
Starting on October 23, players will be able to purchase a skin pack for Minecraft that adds a number of Halo skins to the game. The Halo DLC pack will only be available on Xbox One and Xbox 360.
For those that have already purchased the previous Halo mashup pack, you'll be happy to hear that this upcoming skin DLC will be available to you for free. Everybody else can pick up both the mash-up pack and the now included skins for $4.
In total there are eight different

It seems that nobody can escape acquisition these days - if you're a successful business, and you manage to get the spotlight on you, chances are somebody like Google, Microsoft or Amazon will swoop down and offer a pricey deal to purchase your entire business.
Recently, Twitch was acquired by Amazon for $970 million, and now there are rumors circulating that Microsoft is looking to acquire Mojang, the creators of the ever-popular Minecraft.
Whilst nothing is definitely confirmed at this point, it is looking likely that Microsoft are looking into paying whatever they can to get hold of Minecraft, including a cash payment upwards of $2.5 billion.
The deciding factor will come down to whether the current Minecraft owners will be willing to give up their rights to the game for a huge cash sum. Markus "Notch" Persson, the original creator of Minecraft has already stated in the past that he has made enough money from Minecraft, but due to changes in Mojang, it may not be

At long last, the PlayStation 4 port for Minecraft has finally been put up for sale after months of development, planning and delayed releases. 4JStudios, the development team responsible for the port, have been working on the PS4 and Xbox One ports before the consoles were even available to the public. However, Minecraft can now be picked up from the PSN store for $19.99.
If PS3 owners already have a copy of Minecraft on their PlayStation 3, they can 'upgrade' to the new PS4 version of Minecraft for just $4.99. Unfortunately, the promotion is not available for those that have purchased the physical copy of Minecraft for the PlayStation 3 in the past, however going forward all PS3 physical copies of Minecraft will now have pre-packaged codes that will players a $14.99 discount on the PS4 version of the game.
Minecraft has been planned for the Xbox One as well, however due to a few issues the release has been slightly delayed. The Xbox One version of Minecraft will be released
