Microsoft is pretty well known for slandering it's competition, and recently they've really tried hard to make their competitors look like insignificant wastes of time, despite being a fair way behind their competitors in the industries they are working in.
In the gaming industry, I have a feeling we can expect a lot of PlayStation slandering campaigns to go ahead over the next few years, but that's okay, because Sony usually has a witty thing or two to say back.
The most recent of these campaigns offers those who want an Xbox One a path easier on their wallets. To be precise, Microsoft has offered to take your PlayStation 3 off of your hands, in return for a $100 discount card on a brand spanking new Xbox One.
Microsoft may have admitted that the Xbox One is priced higher than the PS4, and this looks like their first measure to try and make their price a little closer to the

The Grand Theft Auto V storyline was one of the most enjoyable single player experience I've had this year, and despite there being some great releases this year such as the Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite and so many more, there's nothing out there that could replace the GTA experience.
If you've enjoyed Grand Theft Auto V but have run the bloodstream dry out of the current single player offering, you may be happy to hear that Rockstar have some great things planned for the story line in 2014.
Just like with Grand Theft Auto IV, GTA V will have some extended storyline content added through DLC packs. Rockstar has confirmed that the DLC content will be released in 2014 and will continue the story's of Michael, Franklin and Trevor.
On top of this, a lot of work is going into the GTA Online experience, and 2014 will be a great year for the multiplayer portion of the game. In 2014, Rockstar will fully release the content creator, introduce new missions and mission

Despite Sony's and Microsoft's best attempts to keep hackers and modders out of the gaming communities on both the PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE, it seems more and more people are finding ways into the system to cheat online and ruin gameplay for others.
Call of Duty has never been perfect for this, and when it comes to modded lobbies and cheats running around in-game, the average Call of Duty gamer has probably heard at least something about such things existing.
Unfortunately, it looks as if hacks and cheats on Call of Duty Ghosts have hit an all time low. Many players are reporting issues with players using hacks to give them access to perks all the way through a game, and others have accidentally found themselves inside a modded lobby, where players are boosting and gaining thousand’s more points per minute than actually possible.
On top of the hacking problems within the game itself, news has hit that a team of hackers have managed to release a torrent file

One of the new additions to Battlefield 4's multiplayer is of course the new weapon customization. Unlike in Battlefield 3, players will be able to add customizations straight onto existing weapons instead of having to unlock each variation of the weapon separately.
When compared to Battlefield 3's weapon customization, the new customization in BF4 shown in this video is much better by a long shot.
The video goes onto showing the easy ways to quickly customize weapons, and the large variety of different stocks, grips and other weapon accessories that can make a big impact on a player's play style.
The video also shows dozens of different unlockable camos that can be applied to primary and secondary weapons as well as any drivable vehicle in the game.
The video then ends with a developer showing the new tiered loading mechanic - a feature that should have been in first person shooters a long time ago.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but the Last of Us is getting a free multiplayer mode. Yes, that's right, a free multiplayer mode.
Who would have thought that a developer could make a great game and then keep developing free content for it afterwards? Once again we've seen that not only are Sony exclusives great games, but they are made by great developers who care about making great games more than they care about making great bank.
The new multiplayer mode is a 4 v 4 game named interrogation. In interrogation, players will team up to fight other players for five interrogations by taking it from the opposing team steathily or by brute force and will then open the other teams lockbox once all 5 interrogations are received.
Like previous multiplayer game modes in the Last of Us, it takes both skill and good teamwork to successfully beat the other team, and it's great that Naughty Dog have managed to develop game modes that offer compelling game play objectives.

It's always nice to be able to pick up a bunch of games after they've been put on sale for cheaper than like new prices, and unfortunately this is the only option for some people out there that like to play a large palette of games.
If you're kind of person that likes to buy game packs and aren't too bothered about when you play your games, you may be interested in a new Capcom pack that will be hitting shelves soon.
The game pack includes 5 different titles developed by Capcom and will be on shelves both digitally and in-store for $60.
The bundle includes Devil May Cry 4, Dead Rising 2, Super Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 6 and Mega Man 10. Most of these games are few years old, but being able to buy them in a bundle will allow you to get all 5 games in brand new condition and save money on the cost of new separate versions of the games in an unused condition. Also a great way to extend the life of your custom

Free-to-play has slowly dripped into the world of consoles and games like World of Tanks, Planetside 2 and Blacklight Retribution will be making their way there soon.
Console ports from the PC aren't the only free to play titles making it into the console scene either- Ace Combat Infinity is a new game in the flight action series that will be available to PSN users on the PlayStation 3 and will be free to play.
Capcom has released a second trailer for Ace Combat Infinity, highlighting the "wealth of free to play features," including a new story campaign and team co-op multiplayer that gets players of 8 split into two teams each with an objective to try and score more damage on the enemies than the other team.
The trailer is only a minute long cinematic, so it'd be nice to see some proper gameplay in the future.
Capcom also hasn't discussed what features will be available for free and what features players will have to pay for.

We all know Grand Theft Auto is a series of games that is likely to prosper even after Grand Theft Auto V and beyond, but if Take Two is to go by, we may be seeing a lot of other Rockstar games being made into permanent franchises, along with some other games from other well known developers.
CEO of Take Two Studios, Strauss Zelnick has said at last week's Q1 FY14 earnings results last week that their unique goal in the industry is to try to "create permanent franchises."
"Outside of our business you can look at James Bond, for example. And it's been our goal not just to preserve and grow the Grand Theft Auto franchise, but also to build other franchises that we think can be permanent, whether that's the Red Dead franchise or the Borderlands franchise or the BioShock franchise or others, Civilization, for example."
"Our competitors do not see it that way. Our competitors' view is that our franchise will have a certain life, and at the end of that life, you move onto

If you weren't satisfied enough with the first 8 minute game play video, Ashraf Ismail, director of the Assassins' Creed series has narrated another game play video. This 14 minute video goes into some of the game play dynamics found within the open world of Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag, and shows a little about the story of Edward Kenway, the protagonist you'll be playing as in Black Flag.
The video starts off by showing the viewer a contract mission that the player has accepted and how the player navigates the world map and in-game to find the contract victim. The video also shows the player traversing the open world a little and shows a bit more of the ship game mechanics.
We already saw the 8 minute game play video delve into the ship game play, but this 13 minute game play video helps to showcase the integration between the ship game play and the rest of the world, and I am quite impressed at just how seamless the whole situation feels.
Personally I can't wait

I'd be surprised if you haven't seen it already, but Rockstar recently uploaded a video filled with gameplay on their Youtube channel. The video shows footage as a narrator explains some of the gameplay mechanics that will be involved with the game. The three-way main character system was shown and explained, and it looks to be very intuitive.
The video also goes onto showing some of the many things you can do in the world of GTA V, including a whole host of sports like golf, tennis or hunting. And other completely unexpected activities like investing in real estate and buying stocks in a virtual stock market.
Another interesting feature is the ability to completely customize your own car with spray paint, and vehicular upgrades. The video showed the player owning a car that looked to come straight out of some of the older Need for Speed games.
The video is feature packed, and if you've been excited for the game already, this video will probably get you drooling, or
