The first game available for the January 2017 lineup is World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap. This game is for the Xbox One and will be available throughout the entirety of the month, starting on January 1st.

Van Helsing: Deathtrap is a tower defense and action-RPG hybrid that comes with a versus mode, a cooperative campaign, and an extensive single-player campaign that tasks you with defending the world against the horrors of the void.

Also on the Xbox One is Killer Instinct Season 2 Ultra Edition, and this will be made available from January 16 and will remain available until February 15.

343 Industries, Mojang and 4JStudios have all teamed up together to create a themed Minecraft DLC pack for Minecraft on the Xbox One and Xbox 360. This isn't the first time we've seen themed mash up packs for Minecraft on the Xbox, and in fact it's not the first time we've seen a Halo pack either.

In the past we saw a full Minecraft Halo theme which included a Halo texture pack, Halo music track and Halo map. This time, 343 Industries has worked closely with Mojang to create a Halo 5: Guardians skin pack.

Starting on October 23, players will be able to purchase a skin pack for Minecraft that adds a number of Halo skins to the game. The Halo DLC pack will only be available on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

For those that have already purchased the previous Halo mashup pack, you'll be happy to hear that this upcoming skin DLC will be available to you for free. Everybody else can pick up both the mash-up pack and the now included skins for $4.

From October 1st to October 31st, Xbox One players will be able to get their hands on Valiant Hearts: The Great War. This is easily the least known title on this month's lineup but doesn't mean it's bad. The latest Games with Gold promotion for August has now been announced and Major Nelson has revealed four different games that will be available throughout August for both Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Like previous months, the Xbox 360 will be getting two games and the Xbox One will be getting two different games as well. Personally I think August's lineup may be one of the best we have ever seen so far.

Firstly, on Xbox 360 we have Metro 2033 available currently and it will remain available till August 15. On August 16, Metro 2033 will be replaced with Metro Last Light. Metro Last Light is a direct sequel of Metro 2033 so you'll be able to play through both games this month in order.

Each Metro game is a post apocalyptic themed first person shooter. As the title of the game would suggest, the majority of both games takes place inside the Metro system underneath Moscow.

First up for the Xbox 360 lineup is Just Cause 2. Considering hype for Just Cause 3 has been blowing up recently, it seems like perfect timing to have a free access pass to Just Cause 2. Have you got some change to spare? If you do, you might want to throw it at Coffee Stain Studio's genius creation/abomination Goat Simulator. The hilarious bug filled game has now made it's way to the Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Whilst Coffee Stain Studios weren't in charge of the port, more than capable Double Eleven has managed to bring it to the Xbox platform without changing anything that broke away from that special Goat Simulation experience the PC version offered.

As you can imagine, Goat Simulator can only be picked up from the Xbox Store as a digital download. The game currently costs $9.99 for Xbox One and the Xbox 360. The objective of Goat Simulator is to take control of a goat and use his strangely sticky tongue to attach to objects and destroy the world around him.

The game is perhaps the most random non-game like monstrosity you'll ever lay your eyes on, and plenty of physics bugs have been left in the game to make it even more of a laugh to play through.

Some new playlist changes have gone ahead in anticipation for the launch of the April update for The Master Chief Collection. The playlist changes include the introduction of Team Doubles, as well as a few other changes across the board.

Team Doubles is a pretty popular playlist that has been around since Halo 2, and it includes a variety of different game modes that can be played with 2 players on each team. Other changes include small tweaks to team sizes. For example, Combat Evolved team games now have 2 players on each team, instead of 2-3 players. 343 Industries have also been clear about their playlist plans for the future. The development team has revealed that they would like to add more playlists that give players a battle rifle at the start of the game, and they've expressed their interest in more team objective style playlists.
