EVO 2017 has now slowly shifted to a halt, and the winners for both Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Bros. Melee have now been revealed.

We'll first start with the least surprising turnout of the event. In the Super Bros. Melee tournament at EVO 2017, Armada and Mang0 ended up facing up against each other in the grand finale.

Armada managed to pull out an almost clean 3-1 victory over Mang0 to take the grand final win after coming from the winner's bracket. This is now the third year in a row that Armada has made it to the EVO 2017 grand finals.

In 2016, Armada came second after losing in the grand finals. Armada also took the 2015 EVO Smash Bros. Melee win.

The results for the EVO 2017 Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament were a little more interesting.

As expected, ZeRo made his way to the grand finals after staying

After recent events, ZeRo has built a new tier list for Super Smash Bros 4. The list includes each of the SSMB4 characters, besides the Miis, and has listed each one based on their performance in competitive events.

Whether you play competitively or simply want to know which characters to pick to give yourself a better chance at beating your friend when they come round to play, this new tier list is worth taking a look at.

Before we share the entire Smash Bros 4 tier list, let's first take a look at the top 10 picks from ZeRo. The top ten characters in ZeRo's tier list have been showcased below:

• 9: MarchCina
• 8: Fox
• 7: Sonic
• 6: ZSS
• 5: Diddy Kong
• 4: Sheik
• 3: Rosalina
• 2: Cloud
• 1: Bayonetta

Bayonetta was an interesting choice for number 1, especially considering that not a single Bayonetta player has won a major tournament with that character.

After an incredible performance from ZeRo this year, it was a surprise to see that a player managed to outperform him in an event sporting ZeRo's name.

Funnily enough, this wasn't the first time ZeRo has lost at his own event. In fact, every event in the past that has included ZeRo in the title has seen ZeRo fail at getting a win.

This particular event was 2GGT ZeRo Saga, and it saw some of the best Smash players across the globe fight it out for a $10,000 prize. Whilst it was surprising to ZeRo not take the win, it was perhaps even more surprising to see the actual winner.

MKLeo managed to take the grand prize after fighting his way through, Larry Lur, VoiD and plenty of other players. In fact, Leo originally found himself in the loser's bracket earlier in the tournament. It wasn't until MKLeo beat ZeRo in the loser's finals that he saw himself in the grand finals against Larry Lur.

MKLeo took the first set of matches in an impressive fashion with a 3-1 score

ZeRo has been at the top of his game for far too long, and his top form has given him another win at the Smash 4 event at UGC Open.

Whilst ZeRo took the win, he didn't get away with the prize as easily as he had done earlier in the year. This is the fifth win ZeRo has had in a row now, but the close 3-2 victory at UGC almost threw ZeRo's chances of beating his 52 win streak down the drain.

If you've been following the Smash Open scene for a while now, 2016 has perhaps been the best chance competitors have had at beating ZeRo. This is especially true in Abadango's case, who fought against ZeRo in the UGC Open Smash 4 grand final.

Earlier in the tournament, ZeRo took a clean 3-0 win against Abadango, which pushed him straight into the loser's bracket. Abadango managed to closely fight his way back into the grand finals though, and the 3-2 defeat was the closest any player had come to taking a game win from ZeRo at the UGC Open.

Does it come as a surprise to anybody that ZeRo has managed to bag another win at Super Smash Brothers 4 at this year's Big House event?

Last year, ZeRo managed to take a victory at Big House 5, with just a single loss and this year he followed a similar path.

To begin with, ZeRo didn't show the best of results - he dropped out of the winner's bracket to ANTi, who at the time was tearing through his opponents like never seen before.

In fact, ANTi beat VoiD, Mr. E, Komorikiri, and of course ZeRo in incredible fashion before securing his place in the grand finals.

After ZeRo dropped down to the loser's bracket, things started to ease up for him. ZeRo managed to outplay Tweek, Abadango, and Dabuz. In the Loser's finals, ZeRo took down Komorikiri in an impressive 3-1 battle.

This put ZeRo against ANTi once again - but this time, ANTi not only had the one game advantage but he also had shown his ability to pummel ZeRo to the ground confidently. ZeRo wasn't

The Big House 6 has recently confirmed that they will be running Japanese qualifier events for Super Smash Bros. Wii U. After the qualifier events for Smash Wii U, another event, the Master Hand qualifier, will follow for Melee on August 28.

Whilst the qualifier events aren't the biggest news to hit the Smash scene, it is important to know that these qualifiers will help players make their way into the main event for The Big House 6 which will be happening in Dearborn, Michigan.

This event will be happening from October 7 to October 9 and it will hopefully include around 500-1,000 entrants. If you're interested in the tournament you can register at umsmash.com. Last year the event saw over 500 entrants battle their way out. Expectedly a number of familiar faces made their way to the finals. Last year we saw ZeRo take the crown.
