Call of Duty: NEXT Event Slated for September 15th

Are you excited and passionately waiting for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer? If yes, mark your calendar, as Activision has unveiled plans for its flagship and successful franchise, Call of Duty (COD), with a live stream dubbed the Call of Duty Next.

Keep in mind that as part of these events, Activision is also inviting COD: Mobile players to try Warzone Mobile on Sept 15. As a fan, you can expect plenty of highly anticipated and juicy information on upcoming COD games and content updates. Also, the company revealed the official Beta dates for COD 2022.

Modern Warfare II is the successor to 2019's famous COD: Modern Warfare, based on the highly successful original Modern Warfare subseries launched in 2007.

Early Access

As you can expect, those who pre-order Call of Duty: MW2 will get two days of early access to the multiplayer Beta, with PlayStation users getting even earlier access one week before. However, Call of Duty: Next will begin on Sept 15, providing a complete COD MW2 multiplayer reveal and other crucial information for the highly anticipated upcoming title.

The event will showcase various games, such as Modern Warfare II multiplayer, the next Warzone iteration, and the mobile Warzone game, and will also feature gameplay from streamers and content producers.

While the developer has not revealed any details or given a peek into the game, a gameplay clip was leaked a couple of months ago, providing a look into Warzone Mobile, which has piqued gamers' interest. It is worth noting that the clip also confirmed that Verdansk, a fictional city in COD, is returning on mobile devices.

PlayStation Early Access

Users who pre-ordered the game on PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 or who received a Beta code will be able to play the Beta on Friday, Sept 16 at 10 a.m. PT.

PlayStation Open Beta

For the rest of the weekend, from Sept 18 at 10 a.m. PT to Sept 20, the game is accessible to all PlayStation users regardless of pre-order status.

The company also announced that the early access beta version would roll out on Sept 16 and 17 on PlayStation consoles. Also, it will arrive in an open cross-play beta to all PCs and consoles starting Sept 24.

Highlights

The main highlight of this event will be the unveiling of the popular multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. The Call of Duty event will also feature:

  • The future of Warzone
  • Live gameplay from some of your favorite game streamers
  • The Warzone mobile experience
