Spoiling Gears of War 3 before its officially released? Well meet Epic's Ban Hammer.

Lets say you got yourself some kind of leaked copy of Gears of War 3, and you decided to take the epic content you saw from Epic's Games's Gears of War 3 and decided to be an epic spoiler for everyone and posted it on Youtube or Gametrailers. Well, mister-spoil-everything-for-everyone, considered yourself banned from the Epic game forever.

When a pre-released version of Gears of War 3 was leaked in July, Rod Fergusson of Epic Games said that he and his team didn't like that the game was leaked and what they were experience was an early build of the game and spoiled a number of the game's content. Well Fergusson and the rest of his team didn't take kindly to it and weren't going to sit around and take the bitter reality of what the gaming community has done. In retaliation they searched for those who posted torrents and spoiling videos of their game and gave them a swift bit of poetic justice.

While Epic has been watching closely for any more leaked content, they've also kept the names of those who were involved with the whole ordeal or contributed to it. In a recent interview with Eurogamer, Ferugsson stated:

"We have a banning system built into our stuff so we can go in and identify certain people," he said. "Some people aren't smart about what they do. They'll be disappointed on 20th September when they can't get in and can't play. They may be banned."

In this Ambassador's opinion, it's good that Epic is doing something to those who just want to outright spoil the game for the rest of us. Most companies just stand around and let the trolls of the video game community get on torrent sites and the online video streaming sites and spoil the fun for the rest of us. At least Epic put their foot down and said "oh you're gonna do that huh? BANNED!"

Now if that isn't swift justice, I don't know what is. Props to Epic Games.
