The Gears of War franchise has a new addition, and a new way of engaging the Locust horde in combat. Gears of War: The Board Game is expected to be out sometime this year, and was designed by Corey Konieczka, who helped create the Starcraft board games.


The board game allows you to play with up to three other friends, and recreates classic battles from Gears of War and Gears of War 2. The game play includes seven different missions, the ability to choose the COG soldier of your choice, and randomized battle movements. It is an exciting new addition to the GoW experience, and we are excited to get to see the game in person.

It is another reminder of the pending Gears of War 3 release this year, and with all the hype it is hard not to want to speed up the process of getting our hands on the game. While the board game celebrates the previous GoW titles, the new game will push the story line and epic battles to a new plateau.
