Notch Wants Pyschonauts 2 to Come True

Tim Schafer's Psychonauts is practically up there when it comes to great, under-appreciated video games. While it didn't set the world on fire with massive sales, it's still a cult hit with everyone for its out of mind gameplay and humor.

So, where's the sequel? Well, lately Schafer's Double Fine development studio's changed a bit. They now focus on smaller, leaner games destined for the downloadable market. Schafer's stated that from a manpower and financial perspective, Double Fine's not quite ready for a follow-up to Psychonauts. Still, he told in an interview with Digital Spy that he would love to do a sequel if he had the money.

Enter Markus Persson (aka Notch, also known as the fedora wearing creator of Minecraft), after reading the interview with Digital Spy he posted on Twitter and informed news sites like Kotaku that he'd be willing to fund a sequel in a tweet directed to Schafer. When asked if he was serious, Notch said he was very serious about it.

Schafer's has yet to respond, so really we don't know until we get more solid evidence. Until then, we can only hope.
