For many years, there has been an ongoing debate among gamers regarding whether pre-ordering new titles is worth it. However, there is no simple answer because some titles have too much hype but do not meet expectations. That said, there are also plenty of games that not only meet the hype but end up exceeding it.

There has been a steady flow of games during the recent months, some of them excellent while others ranging from decent to not so good. With so much uncertainty, one might wonder whether May 2022 will be a good month for new game releases.

Evil Dead – The Video Game

Very few people thought that there would come a time when they would be able to pay for a video game iteration of their favorite horror movie. Well, that time has come as May 2022 will see the release of the Evil Dead video game. Initially, many gamers were under the impression that this game would only offer a single-player experience. However, that is not the case, as Evil Dead will also offer a multiplayer and co-op experience.

With Bruce Campbell returning to this franchise, it seems like the developers of this game are doing everything possible to stay close to the source material. The Evil Dead video game releases on May 13th on Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

Sniper Elite 5

Sniper Elite 5 is set in France that will have you play Karl Fairburne, a high-level marksman who discovers an insidious project from the Nazis that could have terrible consequences. Your mission will be to kill high and low-ranked enemy officers to put an end to their evil operation. Sniper Elite 5 will feature detailed environments, created with multiple infiltration points and paths to ensure players can snipe their targets strategically.

The game will include plenty of stealth and slow-motion action and may just prove to be the best shooter game of 2022. Sniper Elite 5 releases on the 26th of May and will be available on Xbox, PC, PS4, and PS5.

Pac Man Museum +

With around 40 years under its belt, Pac-Man is one of the longest-running video game franchises out there and is still going strong. There have been fourteen Pac-Man games so far, which include the recent iterations as well as the classics. The latest version of this game will release on May 27th and will be vastly different compared to the older versions.

Like older Pac-Man games, players will be able to earn coins after completing their missions. However, the modern twist is that they can use these coins for plenty of things like personalizing the game’s soundscape, getting inline gaming cabinets, jukeboxes, wallpapers, figure decorations, and much more. You can also compete against players across the globe by improving your rank on the game’s online leaderboard. Pacman will be available on Switch, Xbox, Playstation, and PC.

 

May will see the release of a few other games like Trek to Yomi, Vampire: The Masquerade Song, Salt and Sacrifice, etc. but the ones discussed in this piece are quite highly anticipated and could meet or even exceed expectations.
