Optic Gaming wins the grand prize at the Call of Duty XP Tournament

At last week's Call of Duty XP Event, in addition to the huge assortment of panels and activities, they hosted a Million Dollar Tournament which let tourney participants duke it out on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Many teams took part in the tournament, but in the end, there can be only one winning team, and that team was OpTic Gaming.

Squaring off with the UK Team Infinity in the final round, OpTic picked up the lead early in the round of final matches, winning capture the flag on the Dome map in the first game, and then holding their ground in Domination in the next. However, Team Infinity caused some trouble in the next round in a game of Kill Confirmed. Afterwards it came down to a final game of Search and Destroy. It was a clashing struggle between the two teams, but OpTic went all out in Search and Destroy to win the tourney.

How did Optic feel afterwards? To quote one of Optic's team members:

"No college debt -- that's how I feel, baby!"

With Optic Gaming winning the whole tournament they acquired a large sum of $400,000 while Infinity walked away with a second prize of $200,000. But they weren't the only winners at the XP Event. Call of Duty fanBrandy Miller, who won a photo competition on Facebook, won herself a brand newCall of Duty edition Jeep Wrangler. In addition, everyone else was a winner as all attendees who paid for the $150 tickets to the event also picked up a voucher for a Hardened Edition of Modern Warfare 3 when it comes out later on this year.
