Insomniac Games doesn't have Resistance 4 in its future at the moment.

Insomniac Games was the driving force behind the great Resistance series for the Playstation 2 and Playstation 3 and they are about to release the third title in the series this September. But are they going to make Resistance 4 after this upcoming release?

Insomniac Games creative director Marcus Smith stated in an interview with gaming website GamingUnion the following:

"We've doneResistance 3 and we're really into it and proud of it, but we're not currently slated to do aResistance 4. So it would be hard to say it's any kind of linchpin within Insomniac. I think we're thriving and branching out in a lot of different directions."

Smith then added that maybe they could"...definitely see" the series being handed off to another developer since the series spin-off titles "Retribution" and "Burning Skies" were made by other developers and not Insomniac. He also added that if the series was to be handed off to another developer, he knows that Sony will make sure the developer is just as good as Insomniac.

"I'm sure Sony would want to find a high calibre developer to do a good offering. I don't think they'd hand the franchise over to somebody who is going to screw it up."
