Gaming enthusiasts have been waiting for new games quite eagerly. In a lot of cases, the wait has been going on since 2020 as the pandemic halted the production and release of many highly anticipated games. Now that things are almost back to normal, there has been a steady release of games recently. While there are plenty of titles that are still to be released, plenty is already available to play. Games like Elden Ring, Sifu, The Last of Us 2, and Horizon Forbidden West were some of the recent smash hit game releases this year.

These games exceeded expectations and broke sales records. That being said, there are plenty of releases that were not up to the mark. Despite some fantastic game releases, 2022 has also had its fair share of duds. Here is a look at some of the worst games of 2022 thus far.

Apex Legends (Switch Version)

Apex Legends became a massive hit among FPS game enthusiasts. Thousands, if not PC gamers revere this game because of its catchy art style and fun gameplay. Because of the incredible popularity that Apex Legends gained in the PC gamer community, developers decided to introduce this game on Nintendo Switch as well.

As you would expect, expectations for this game’s release on Nintendo Switch were incredibly high. Unfortunately, though, the Nintendo Switch version of Apex Legends fell flat on its face. Nintendo users were not impressed by this game’s poor frame rate and graphics. While some people believe that the game could be somewhat fixed with patches, the recent updates haven’t been promising. It is safe to say that the PC version of Apex Legends still reigns supreme.

Biomutant

Biomutant has arguably been the worst game of 2022 so far. People had high hopes for this action role-playing game but were disappointed to see how it turned out. Developed on the Unreal Engine 4, Biomutant was available to play on PC, along with the old gen and next-gen versions of PlayStation and Xbox.

The game's repetitive gameplay and underwhelming story were the main reasons why it flopped. Players also weren’t too impressed with the illogical moral choices the game presented. Biomutant’s characters are mostly forgettable and there is plenty of stuff borrowed from far superior games to call this game original. Sadly, this game was dead on arrival and it doesn’t look like any future updates can make it better.

Warhammer – Age of Sigmar

The popularity of role-playing games has been at an all-time high and the incredible amount of RPG game released in recent years proves that. When Warhammer- Age of Sigmar was announced, gamers were hyped and looking forward to playing it. Sadly, much like the other games mentioned in this piece, Warhammer did not deliver. The shortage of quality of life features, endless bugs, and repetitive gameplay adds this title to the list of the worst games of 2022 so far.
