Cyberpunk 2077 was launched in December after many years of hype and expectations, following the immense success of CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3. You probably know that expectations were pretty high for the studio's Cyberpunk RPG, particularly following the glitzy, glamorous, and action-packed game trailers shown in the months that led up to the game's launch. The game was released after multiple delays and was riddled with bugs, glitches, and performance issues when it was eventually available, especially on older consoles. The game crashed and burned in almost unprecedented and unparalleled ways, subject to fan scorn and critical discourse amidst its broken and buggy release. Sony took the unusual step of deleting Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store and providing refunds because the performance was so poor.

Today online search giant Google held their second Stadia Connect Livestream, showing off a slate of new games that are being launched for the streaming service once it launches.

The big announcement during the stream was that CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to Stadia at launch, allowing players to stream the game at 4K 60 FPS without any native hardware on the consumer side. All a user will need to play the game is a Chromecast or Chrome web browser, a game controller, a solid internet connection, and to have purchased the game through the Stadia service.

Other games announced include the puzzle game Kine, Orcs Must Die! 3, Windjammers 2, Destroy All Humans, Mortal Kombat 11, Farming Simulator 19, and more. Although the showing was a bit light compared to the inaugural stream, it is good to see that Google is committing to releasing new games.

Out of nowhere, CD Projekt Red started broadcasting a strange cryptic video on YouTube and Twitch.

After many hours, the live broadcast switched up and a full gameplay video for Cyberpunk 2077 was showcased.

Whilst not many actual gameplay elements were shown, we got introduced to the world of Cyberpunk 2077, we were shown some gameplay and RPG elements.

More importantly, all 48 minutes of the gameplay video was shot in the game. No additional rendering or cutscenes were added.

In the beginning, the gameplay video showcased the player creation screen. Players will have many options at their disposal to adjust their character. They can change their appearance, their starting traits, and their gender.

German website Gamereactor.de recently revealed a rumor that suggested Cyberpunk 2077 may get released in 2016. According to a "source close to the company," CD Projekt Red is currently planning to release their next big RPG title before the end of 2016.

It's assumed that currently Cyberpunk 2077 is only being developed for PC but we'd be surprised if CD Projekt Red doesn't also release console versions of the game, especially considering how successful The Witcher 3 was on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Whilst it would be great to see Cyberpunk 2077 before the end of 2017 I think it's important to remember that CD Projekt Red have considered the game to be the biggest and most ambitious project from the development studio so far. We also know very little about the supposed source of this rumor.
