During late October, the Call of Duty Blackout Doritos Bowl tournament took place at TwitchCon. It was more of a promotional event than a full blown esports tournament, but it still attracted a number of big names in the esports and gaming communities.

● Team Shroud - Shroud, Just9n, Chocotaco, Chad
● Team OpTic - Courage, Karma, TeePee, Hysteria
● Team Ninja - Ninja, JoshOG, FearItself, GoldGlobe

Out of nowhere, OpTic Gaming has signed on the old CLG Halo roster to bag themselves a star player team for future Halo events.
The CLG organization previously saw a lot of great results with their Halo team, especially during the Halo 5 eSports era. Their best accomplishments included a win at Halo World Champions and a win at season 1 of the HCS Pro League. It's no doubt then that OpTic Gaming had taken an interest in picking the team up.
If you're a fan of the CLG organization, this may be disappointing news for you, but if you're a fan of the Halo team that was representing CLG, then this change in the Halo scene should only mean good things. The entire team has been transferred over - SnakeBite, Lethul, Royal 2 and Frosty are all going to be a part of the same team still, just from now on they'll be donning OpTic jerseys.
Because of the rules set out by the Halo Pro League, this acquisition will also mean that OpTic will take CLG's spot in season 2 of the Halo

Optic has made their way to another Call of Duty grand final event, this time at MLG Orlando against EnVyUs. Because EnVyUs came from the lower bracket, they had to win two best of five series to take the championship win, whilst Optic only needed to take one series win.In the first series, things were very neck and neck. The first game saw EnVyUs and Optic battle it out on Breach Hardpoint. Things were very close but EnVyUs managed to bag 250 points whilst Optic was just a little behind with 231 points.
The second match of series 1 was Hunted Search and Destroy. Optic managed to take 4 rounds, but EnVyUs took 6 rounds, giving them another win for that series. EnVyUs was doing well in the event so far, but they had a long time ahead.
Unfortunately for EnVyUs, Optic started to pick up their game after match 3. The third match was Evac Uplink and Optic took the win with a 14-9 scoreline. Match 4 was Stronghold Capture the Flag and once again Optic took an impressive

Could you imagine eSports being played alongside the Olympics? It seems like a far-fetched idea that couldn't possibly ever make it's way into reality, but recently the British government backed an international committee that has been designed to bring eGames to the world, an event that will be treated similarly to the olympics.
The first eGames event will be held this year in Rio De Janeiro alongside the 2016 Summer Olympics. Following on from that, future Olympics events will have coinciding eGames events too.
Like the Olympics, there will be no cash prizes given out for players - instead, bronze, silver and gold medals will be awarded. The first event will have players from Brazil, Britain, Canada and the U.S.A but future events are planned to host more countries.
So far, besides the medals there are no other incentives to attend the eGames events, so it's going to be hard to get a busy team like OpTic From COD/Halo or Fnatic from Counter Strike/League of Legends

After pro player Naded's great performance at the Halo World Championship, he has managed to grab himself a deal with none other than OpTiC Gaming. Naded will now join the new OpTiC Halo 5 crew as the third currently announced member of the newly formed lineup.
We now have just one more player to be announced before we have a completely fresh OpTiC Halo lineup that may actually stand a great chance at competing and performing well at a high level again.
Not only is Naded a good choice for building a well-performing Halo team for Halo 5: Guardians and potential future releases, but he also has a lot of great brand value. Naded has been considered to be one of the top Halo streamers out there and he has pulled in quite a lot of viewership, especially compared to other streamers within the Halo community.
If you've been following the OpTiC Halo team then you'll know that the other two currently confirmed members for the team are Flamesword and Maniac. Flamesword has been

In a huge new sponsorship deal, OpTic has teamed up with Pepsi to bring a brand new energy drink to the market. Aimed at gamers looking for the best fuel to power up their own game, the new drink is called Brisk Mate. The Mate in Brisk Mate is pronounced mah-tay and is based off of a South American leaf that is used in the drink that has the same pronunciation at the end of it's name. The drink is an iced tea that comes in a range of different flavors and also comes with a range of other benefits you'd hope to see in an energy drink.
The Brisk Mate drink has been described to give players a "smooth, energizing spark" and as well as using the sponsorship deal to showcase their new drink, Pepsi will allow the OpTic teams from different games to drink the drink at events - we'd expect there to be enough Brisk Mate to last the entire OpTic organisation for an entire lifetime.
Perhaps the coolest thing to come from the new sponsorship deal, at least for us viewers, is a number
